Modeling confined fluids with the multicomponent potential theory of adsorption and the SAFT-VR Mie equation of state

In this work, the SAFT-VR Mie equation of state is used in conjunction with Dubinin-Radushkevich-Astakhov (DRA) and Steele potentials, according to Multicomponent Potential Theory Adsorption (MPTA), model thermodynamic behavior fluids confined porous media. The problem specifications are temperature, volume, number moles each component, yielding a Helmholtz energy-minimization problem. Calculation results show very good agreement experimental adsorption data for systems methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, ethane, ethylene, isobutane adsorbed on activated molecular sieve.
